In mid-August three volunteers from All Saints got a first-hand look at both the aftermath of the hurricane and the work Lutheran Disaster Response is doing to bring hope to residents of the Gulf Coast by rebuilding their homes. The awesome experience was made possible by the generous financial support of the congregation through special offerings. LDR is the collaborative domestic disaster relief organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. For specific volunteer information, click here.
All Saints’ Biloxi Builders worked from “Camp Biloxi” on the grounds of
theLutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, a LC-MS congregation in Biloxi; a
second LDR camp is at Christus Victor Lutheran Church (ELCA) in nearby Ocean
Springs.
The local group brought back pictures of their experience.
